On the podcast this week Arune Singh is back on with me to talk about the first two movies in the Fast and Furious franchise, but before we got into that we needed to talk about P.K. Subban, his personal success, and the perception of him around the NHL.

With the hockey stuff out of the way, we got into two movies from the early 2000’s that frankly, aren’t very good, but spawned a powerhouse franchise. What about them was so special that people were compelled to keep coming back?

This week on the podcast, Marc Dumont from Eyes on the Prize joins me to do some playoff predictions for the second round, and then we go deep into what went wrong with the Canadiens this year, and whether they can recover from it.

We also referenced an article on EOTP from Kyle Medeiros on the Canadiens’ inability to break in drafted players, which you can read here.

The man, the beard, the legend; PDOcast host Dimitri Filipovic joined me to talk about the early returns on the 2017 NHL playoffs, going through it series by series, but not before I tell an embarrassing story.

On today’s podcast Sportsnet’s Eric Engels joins the show to talk about the Montreal Canadiens post trade deadline and coaching change.

For a good portion of the podcast Eric and I discuss Max Pacioretty’s evolution as a hockey player and a leader, and what that means for the Canadiens going forward.

We also talk about why the Habs’ powerplay still looks awful, why Alexei Emelin keeps getting chances to play, whether Charles Hudon will get the chance he’s earned, and why Eric is wrong about pecan pie.

Episode 8 – Steve Dangle

This week I felt like talking about the Toronto Maple Leafs, so it was time to bring on Steve Dangle and attempt to stay on topic. From Filppula refusing to be traded to the Maple Leafs, to the trials and tribulations of Morgan Rielly, we looked at all the issues currently surrounding Toronto’s least successful professional sports franchise.

We also talked a little Habs and Lightning, if you’re interested in that.

Arune Singh joins me once again, and originally we were going to talk about Fox’s X-Men movies this week, but since Logan came out and I haven’t seen it yet, we felt it wouldn’t be right to do it without being completist.

I did however, see John Wick 2, so that’s the topic for this week’s podcast.

Before we got int that though, we had to touch on the firing of Michel Therrien and hiring of Claude Julien, the trade deadline, and the return of P.K. Subban to the Bell Centre.

After a few minutes of hockey, we get right into the John Wick 2 analysis. Beware: Here lie spoilers.

It’s Ice Level reunion number two on the podcast this week, as I welcome Conor McKenna onto the new show. Conor and I start by discussing the Habs recent struggles, from injuries to offseason preparation, and what we think this season will ultimately be.

Is Phillip Danault a fit for the top-six of the future for the Canadiens? Did they do enough in the offseason to insulate themselves from injury? Conor and I get into it.

After that, we move on to what everyone expected; Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire. Who are the best POV characters in the book? Who are the worst? What do we think will ultimately happen? It’s all in there.

After going through some Netflix and TV suggestions, Conor and I tackle your email questions!
